Top 5 Wedding Stationery Trends for 2017

Let's take a light hearted look at the patterns and styles that are refreshing our existing, popular handmade wedding invitations as well as influencing some fresh new designs for 2017 - exciting!

MIXED COLOUR PALETTES
Traditionally, a selection of just one or two colours would be the norm but nowadays, we find couples are much more experimental in selecting a range of 3, 4 or sometimes even 5 colours! To create your perfect colour palette, we suggest starting with 2 light colours such as ivory, lilac grey or rose quartz and then add in a darker colour such as navy or graphite and finally, incorporate a highlight or accent colour such as pretty peach or serenity blue. This then creates more interest to all elements on your wedding day including your 'on the day' wedding stationery, flowers and decor.

SEASONAL STYLING
This is one of our favourites and we have chosen a couple of Autumn themed images from our Made Marvellous portfolio for this blog. Seasonal styling continues to grow in popularity as more couples choose to incorporate the season that they will wed into their wedding stationery - beautiful spring blooms, gorgeous autumn leaves, romantic wintery snowflakes...aw! Building your theme around the season you will be married gives a lovely authentic feel to the styling and ambience of your wedding day.

BOTANICAL
Flowers have been, and hopefully always will be, a key part of the wedding day. With the increased popularity of rustic and vintage style barn and outdoors weddings, the use of foliage and leaves has been a welcoming and colourful addition. The result is a clean and minimal finish that works perfectly with wooden elements, metallic props and string lighting. Bespoke wedding stationery at its finest!

HANDWRITTEN FONTS
Calligraphy is a beautiful art form and has always been a major part of wedding stationery. However, it can be (is!) expensive to pay for the services of a calligrapher and fortunately, nowadays there are many amazing handwritten-look fonts available. This is a much more affordable option that still provides the dreamy, romantic finish that hand lettering gives to all aspects of your wedding stationery suite.

MIXING MATERIALS
Have some fun with this one - not only are there many lovely card stocks to choose from for your 'save the date' cards, wedding invitations and 'on the day' stationery, you could also combine different weights and textures to add a whole new and interesting dimension. Be creative or indeed, let us be creative for you!
